July 14th
August 25th
Sunday July 14th is our next event. I hope you already received a card
in the mail about this and plan on being there. Just in case, we are meeting
at Antioch High School which is on Blue Hole Road between Antioch Pike
and Bell Road in Antioch. Meet at 1:30 for a tour of about 2 hours ending
up at Texana Grill at Hickory Hollow. I’m not sure I understand why it
would take two hours, I swear it’s only about 2 miles! I guess when you
own Riley’s you naturally plan for the worst. Anyway you can meet us at
the restaurant about 4 if you can’t make the drive.
August 25th we will meet at Nort’s Liquors at the corner of
Murfreesboro Rd. and Donelson Pike at 12:30. We will head out to Edgar
Evins State Park on Center Hill Lake for a picnic. Bring plenty of food,
drinks, sunscreen and maybe a Frisbee.
Christmas Dinner
Go ahead and mark your calendars now for our annual Christmas Dinner. Cynthia
King has once again pulled the proverbial rabbit out of the hat with arrangements
at The Merchants restaurant downtown at fourth and Broad. There is plenty
of parking available in the Arena parking lot just behind the restaurant
at 4th and Shelby. We will be ordering from a special menu consisting of
delicacies such as Tennessee Medallions, (I thought that was what you wiped
off your shoe after walking in a cow pasture, the Maitre’d was NOT amused!)
Louisiana skillet shrimp, honey roasted chicken, pasta Mediterranean, a
dish called the vegetarian, and more. Prices run from $13.95
to $23.95 so I hope this will a bit more affordable for everyone. Please
